The world's first laser anti-laser tool

US scientists have successfully developed the world's first laser-based tool. This tool has the ability to absorb or destroy laser beams.

Yale University researchers say the device is based on a silicon-based device that absorbs laser light and converts it into thermal energy. According to UPI's citation, the technology leads to a new generation of supercomputers using light instead of electronics.

A laser anti-laser device can focus two specific laser rays into the optical cavity of the silicon to trap light rays and cause it to escape around, until all the energy disappears in the form of heat. .

Changing the wavelength of light going there makes the laser anti-laser turn off and light up, creating an optical switch that can become the basis of an optical-based computer.

One thing that this anti-laser device can not do is create a "shield" against high-energy laser weapons. "The energy will disappear and warm up, " said Professor DouglasStone.

" So if someone directs a laser with enough energy to burn you, this laser-resistant device will not be able to prevent the laser from burning you, " he concluded.
