TVs use solar energy

Nearly 1.6 billion people around the world live in places where there is absolutely no electricity and will have the opportunity to watch TV through a new design of Sharp (Japan): TVs use 100% solar energy.

This TV receives energy from the assembled solar cell modules with a surface area of just the size of the LCD screen. According to the manufacturer, it consumes less energy and is more efficient than current TV and LCD televisions.

This TV is on display at the G8 summit (taking place from 7 to 9-7 in Hokkaido, Japan). Sharp plans to launch this product in the near future.

In addition to solar-powered TVs, Sharp also introduced other energy-saving technologies such as AQUOS 57-inch TVs, solar-powered LED electronic light panels, 65-inch ultra-thin (20 mm) LCD TVs. Using energy consumption is only half that of traditional LCD TVs, transparent solar cell modules can be used as architectural elements in locations where light is needed such as ceiling windows or walls.
