Cuba built many solar parks
The Cuban government is developing a series of solar energy park projects in the framework of a strategy to promote the use of renewable energy sources to meet the country's electricity demand.

Director of Cuba's Renewable Energy Management Authority, Aleisly Valdes, said seven solar parks are being built urgently in the capital of La Habana and Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba, Camaguey and Villa Clara provinces. Cienfuegos, and Youth Island.

In addition, the Cuban government has also approved an investment project to build a system to connect these energy parks to the national grid system with a maximum capacity of 11 MW. Valdes stressed that the project, once completed, will help power production, transmission and distribution work more efficiently.
Cuba currently has only a handful of solar systems installed in remote areas, along with two large-scale solar power parks. With its favorable geographical position, the amount of solar radiation that Cuba receives is enough to provide 1,800 times more electricity than the total amount of oil used in industry and people's life.
Cuba also aims to increase the share of electricity consumption from renewable energy such as hydropower, biofuels and wind energy to 10% by 2030.
