Upgrade the cooling system of ISS Station

Two American astronauts stepped out of the ISS International Space Station to take a walk in space. They carried out the upgrading of the cooling system of the ISS Station. This is the second of three scheduled trips to be done in 9 days.

Last week, two astronauts, Mike Lopez Alegria and Sunita Williams also performed this task. They leaked ammonia from the cooling line. The leaked ammonia forms a snowflake in a vacuum and does not touch any astronaut.

However, Mission Mission on Earth still requires two astronauts to expose space suits to sunlight to remove ammonia deposits remaining on them.

On the ISS Station, astronauts see the Sun every two and a half hours. Ammonia can cause respiratory problems for the three-person tour team on the ISS Station.

The third space walk will be made on February 8.

The fourth trip will take place on February 22, with astronaut Lopez Alegria and Russian flight engineer Mikhail Tyurin. If all goes well, before the end of this month, two American astronauts will set a new walking record in space.

Williams holds the record for women walking the most times in space, Lopez-Alegria will hold a record of walking in the space of the United States, just below the Russian astronaut Anatoly Solovyov.
