Vampires in the animal world

Many animals have been dubbed "vampires" because of the frightening way to eat, tearing off the skin, turning prey into dry flesh, parasitizing on the tongue, eating the same eggs.

Vampire sparrow (Geospiza difficilis septentrionalis)

According to the BBC, the tiny blood-sparrow sparrow on Wolf Island in the Galapagos Islands in the Pacific is a close relative of the sparrow, eating seeds and larvae, but they have developed a more violent way of feeding with life on the island. In order to have food, the sparrow sucked up the body of a larger bird like a blue-legged sea and pecked the tail feathers until the blood drenched. After eating it, they also went to the residential area. They usually aim at defenseless chicks, only cowering in the nest.(Photo: Pete Oxford / NPL).

Assassin Beetle (Reduviidae family)

In the forests and tropical forests around the globe, there is a cold-blooded assassin who hunts every night. This killer bug has camouflage, attack methods and scary weapons. With 7,000 different species, their diets are varied. Some eat bees while others feed on vampire bats.Assassins use a pointed tap to inject the survivor of the enzyme mixture and digest the prey from within. After that, they use the nozzle to suck the fluid in the victim's body whether the prey is dead or not.(Photo: BBC).

Vampire flying frog (Rhacophorus vampyrus)

In 2010, biologist Jodi Rowley came to the misty forest in southern Vietnam and discovered a completely new species of flying frog. The frogs live entirely on the tops of the trees, using their fingers and toes to move. Do not dare to lay eggs in stream ponds on the ground, female frogs lay eggs on water-containing holes in the trunk, using the hind legs to stir a sticky foam. When the tadpoles hatch, the bubbles flow and they jump into the water hole below. But there is nothing to feed them, so the mother frog will return to the hole and lay more eggs. "They use fangs to cut holes in the eggs, and suck the entire inner part , " Rowley explained.(Photo: BBC).

Kenya jumping spider (Evarcha culicivora)

The Kenya jumping spider lives on the walls of the lakeside Victoria Lake, specializing in sucking human blood. However, they do not drink human blood directly through a body part but hunt bloody mosquitoes. This is the only creature that selects its prey based on what it has eaten. This spider is very picky. They only eat the Anopheles gambiae mosquito, the main culprit in malaria in Africa. The spiders distinguish Anopheles mosquitoes through the 45-degree angle of the body while resting, and they can identify a mosquito that stretches blood just by smell.(Photo: Robert Jackson).

Lice eat tongue (Cymothoa exigua)

Lice eat tongue, live parasites on fish. When a suitable prey is found, it passes through the mouth to the mouth, clinging to the tongue and sucking blood, and transforming into females. His eyes twitched and his legs spread out. Finally, when the host blade shrank due to blood loss and falling, the lice clung to the tongue and replaced. From there, the fish used the parasite as a fake tongue.Females mating with males also live in gills, producing males. They continue swimming and start the same process.(Photo: Mike Veitch / Alamy Stock Photo).

Calyptra butterflies are found throughout Europe, primarily eating fruits and smoking nectar. But some evolutionary species became bloodthirsty.Calyptra thalictri butterflies in Siberia use hooks with hooks and prongs to drill deep into the skin and suck blood from the bones of animals, including humans.Male Calyptra butterflies from Asia also eat giant prey, like cows, rhinos, and even elephants.(Photo: FLPA / Alamy Stock Photo).

The small but voracious catfish named Caniru originated in the Amazon basin, which is considered the worst nightmare for tourists. Some are only one centimeter long, but they can grow to 40cm.With its small size, this fish can wriggle into the smallest holes, defend itself with dozens of spikes on its head. This fish mainly clings to the gills of other catfish and occasionally enters open wounds.(Photo: BBC).

Vampire bacteria (Micavibrio aeruginosavorus)

This is the smallest carnivore known in the world.Having a tadpole-like shape, this bacterium prefers to eat other bacteria, bite into the cell membrane and suck in nutrients from within.Micavibrio aeruginosavorus was first discovered 30 years ago but difficult to study because they often pollute the laboratory.(Photo: Daniel Kadouri).
