The average person lived 71 years, but the longest-recorded living person was Jeanne Louise Calment who lived through her 122th birthday. The lifespan of the people was even worse than the giant Galaparos turtles.

One of the oldest turtles named Jonathan is still healthy at the age of 184. Presumed to be born in 1832, Jonathan turtles lived since Andrew Jackson was still the US president.

But 500,000-year-old bacteria that freeze underground in Siberia are the champion of longevity on Earth, lasting long before modern humans.
