Video: The tsunami fish brought from Japan to the United States

A fish believed to have originated in Japan survived the long voyage on a small boat to the US coast.

According to the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife Protection, the Japanese parrot fish survives thanks to the food box available on the boat. This fish is only available in Asia.

According to NHK, the owner of the fishing boat is Saito Katsuo in the city of Rikuzentakata, in northeastern Japan. Mr. Katsuo said that when the disaster struck, his boat was on the shore.

The fish is currently kept in a tank at Seaside Aquarium in Oregon state so scientists can learn about it. Keith Chandler, the director of the park, said everyone was excited to see the fish because of the fact that it came from the horrifying tsunami two years ago.
