Vulcan leads the poll of the name of the Pluto moon
The name Vulcan comes back first in the campaign to find the new name for the two smallest moons of Pluto (Pluto), thanks to the nomination of 'captain' James Kirk.
The vote for online voting ended last weekend, with Vulcan being the top of the list, followed by Cerberus, according to SPACE.com.
Although the name was eventually added, Vulcan quickly surpassed after American actor William Shatner, who played Captain James Kirk in the Star Trek television series, was nominated.

Vulcan is Spock's home planet, the first officer in the Enterprise crew, who is nicknamed 'donkey ear'.
The Extraterrestrial Life Research Institute (SETI), the organizer of the vote, said Vulcan is a valid name because it also coincides with the name of the Fire God in the La lore.
'Vulcan is the name of the Roman god who specializes in fire smoke and lava, the grandson of Pluto (Pluto),' according to SETI's Mark Showalter.
Although the Vulcan and Cerberus won the election, the final decision belonged to the World Astronomical Union.
Until now, astronomers have identified 5 moons of Pluto, with 3 moons named Charon, Nix and Hydra.
