Waterfalls over hundred meters poured down from skyscrapers

Many residents in Guiyang City, China thought they were hallucinating when they saw a large waterfall falling in front of a high-rise building.

The 108-meter-high waterfall lies in the design of the Liebian building located in the central business district of Guiyang city in southwestern China, Xinhua reported yesterday. A large tank is placed at the foot of the skyscraper, 121 meters high, where pumps with capacity of 185 kw will bring water to the top of the waterfall.

This is the only waterfall in the city.

In the video of the artificial waterfall, the water ripples under the sun, forming a rainbow in front of the glass of the building. Photos taken from above also revealed clear water like white silk strips sprayed near the roof of the building. This is the only waterfall in the city.

The waterfall is under the management of Guizhou Ludiya Real Estate Company and is designed to attract visitors. According to Mr. Cheng, the building spokesperson, the main source of water comes from treated tap water, rainwater or other water channels.

"Our building has a 4-storey underground storage and drainage system. Water is pumped up and recycled from there. The cost of electricity to operate the waterfall in an hour is US $ 117. The reason we don't turn on the waterfall every day is only for special festivals in the city, ' Cheng said.

Each time turn on, the waterfall only flows for about 10-20 minutes to save electricity. Some social network users are interested in waterfalls at the building, while many consider it a waste of electricity and water.
