Wild horses
The scene looks like in an action movie. In fact, these aggressive stallions are vying for territory in a British countryside.
Two wild horses, close relatives of a prehistoric breed that wandered across Europe in the Bronze Age, were recorded when they were confronting in the land of Wicken Fen in Cambridgeshire.
Two horses were raised, boxing with their front legs - a majestic performance that had long since disappeared on the island. Wild horses have disappeared from England 4,000 years ago.
" It is great to watch two dramatic stallions fighting ," said Carol Laidlow, the custodian of the reserve.
" Every horse can fight like this, but with wild horses people often separate them, and with domestic horses this behavior is controlled, so you don't have a chance to witness it ."
Konik herds of 50 healthy animals are imported from the Netherlands. They are responsible for eating weeds to protect living areas for plants, birds and insects.
The unusual thing is that Konik horses only live well with weeds and can die if eaten on nutrient-rich grasslands.
