Nearly a quarter of the world's waterfowl have disappeared, largely due to rapid economic development and the impact of climate change, a global survey published on January 23.

The survey - conducted in 100 countries - found that 44% of the 900 species of waterbirds worldwide have declined in numbers in the last 5 years, only 34% of species remain stable and 17% have increased in numbers. . Among bird species, there are birds chirping, stork, shoe stork .

This decline is the worst in Asia, with 62% of waterbirds declining or extinction. Next is Africa: 48%, Oceania: 45%, South America: 42%, Europe: 41% and North America: 37%.

According to Simon Delany, a water bird conservation official from the Netherlands-based Wetlands International, the cause of this decline is due to the disappearance of swamp areas, agricultural development, economic economic destruction of the environment, rising temperatures.
