Uber boss Jeff Holden has announced a new service contract at the Lisbon-based web-based Web Summit, as well as a four-seat UberAir taxi test, 200mph across Los Angeles. Angeles in 2020. This is considered the second test market, after Dallas.

Uber says flying taxis are entirely electric fuel and an 80-minute rush hour ride can be reduced to just 4 minutes. Uber plans to offer some form of aviation service management for the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028. However, some experts are still concerned about whether flying taxis will actually come true.

"To make this plan safe and effective requires a fundamental change in airspace management technology," said Holden . "The combination of Uber's software engineering expertise with decades of experience NASA's space operations will be an important step. "

Uber will work with five manufacturers specializing in the production of new take-off and landing aircraft. This year, Uber hired two NASA specialists, Mark Moore and Tom Prevot, to run the airplane design team and air traffic management software program.

Uber also signed a contract with Sanstone Properties for a plan to build the 'airport' for taxi stop operations.

Today, Uber is facing legal issues in its worldwide operations with safety concerns. The company said it is working hard to change the way it operates to comply with US and European regulations and early approval of flying taxi operations.
