Terry Selwood, a 73-year-old Australian fisherman, was injured on 27 May when he was hit by a 2.7m long, 200kg shark. He was dropping fishing off the coast of New South Wales when the shark rushed out of the water and fell into his fishing boat, according to the BBC.

The impact hit the side of Mr. Selwood's hand with a deep tear. These fishermen then used telephone to call for rescue. He claimed it was the most dramatic shark encounter in his 60 years of fishing.

"I lost a lot of blood, was shocked and did not remember what happened. I was crawling up and saw the shark and he also looked at me, then it started to struggle and I could not avoid it" , Mr. Selwood said. The rescue team found the 73-year-old fisherman in a bloody state, before rescuing Selwood and taking him to the hospital.

The New South Wales Fisheries Administration said the shark was undergoing forensic examination so researchers could sample its tissue and blood for scientific purposes.
