3D printers build houses

Researchers at the University of Southern California have launched large-format 3D printers that can build a home within 24 hours.

Business Insider quotes lead researcher Professor Behrokh Khoshnevis as saying that giant 3D printers are equipped with concrete casting tools.

Based on a computer-generated design, the printer can create a home.

The device is based on technology called Contour Crafting , which is predicted to be capable of completely transforming the world construction industry.

For operation, specialists install rails for active printers and concrete pumps to visualize the structure of the outside of the house in accordance with the design.
