Air filter station and bus stop

A bus-shaped air filter device was installed and tested at Tsinghua University, Beijing before replicating the model.

Air filter station and bus shelters in China

The device was previously tested for 4 months in downtown Hong Kong, before moving to Beijing on July 2. It can eliminate 30-70% of PM2.5 molecular dust (dust smaller than 2.5 microns in diameter) and PM10 in the air, depending on the level of air pollution in real time.

On the first day of testing in Beijing , the device reduced the PM2.5 density to one microgram / m3, significantly lower than neighboring areas, with a density of 20 micrograms / m3.

This device was developed at a cost of more than 77,000 USD. It is not just an air purifier , but also a bus waiting point. Experts said that the replication cost will be reduced if only the air filtration system is installed on existing bus stops, compared to new construction.

This filter system draws air from below, releasing clean air above, creating a clean air barrier, protecting the person inside it thanks to the hydrodynamic system.

If this version is successfully tested at Tsinghua University, in the future, the model will be replicated in other densely populated areas in Beijing, one of the most polluted cities in China.
