Oil spill troubleshooting using SOS-1 oil filter cloth

SOS-1 oil filter fabric of Environment SOS Company of Vietnam Association for Nature and Environment Protection (VACNE) is produced entirely by recycled fiber of textile industry, but it is capable of refining oil, scum Oil, oil-contaminated wastes in the country.

When exposed to SOS-1 , the oil is not only absorbed at the point of contact with the fiber but is sucked into the whole fabric by capillary force and is not affected immediately when the fabric is submerged in water. Use this fabric to collect oil, oil scum in wastewater from factories, mechanical repair stations, gas stations, wharves, bays . very effectively.

The cause of oil spill from a breakdown of a large capacity generator, causing the entire oil in the machine to spill into the sewer system, flowing into the large lake of the industrial park.

Therefore, the first thing to do is to use a strainer cloth on the metal frame (fox eye) to form a filter wall to retain the oil particles that are submerged under water; At the same time, the use of absorbent sheets and cotton wools on the water surface to absorb the floating oil scum.

Although there is a common waste water treatment area, but the industrial park management board does not have a plan to prevent oil spill incident response, it is imperative to urgently make oil spill buoys. This oil float is made of floating materials available in the industrial zone and is coated with oil-absorbent cotton provided by SOS Environment.

The most problematic thing is that oil spills along the underground sewer up to 300m long and will stick to the wall of the sewer throughout its journey (even if the water flow is strong). If there is no suitable solution, the oil will release slowly and oil scum will appear in the common lake for several days afterwards.

So a filter wall (scaffold frame, SOS-fabric strainer-1) was installed in front of the manhole, to retain all the tiny oil particles mixed in the fast-flowing water, also like all oil scum floating on the face.

The timely handling of this oil spill not only helps businesses reduce a lot of difficulties, costly time, resources and funding (if oil spill spreads over the lake surface), but it also prevents get water pollution for the whole area; At the same time, it contributes to raising awareness about oil spill prevention for industrial park managers in Vietnam.
