The " aliens " are among thousands of creatures discovered by researchers thanks to an ambitious project called Census of Marine Life.
The Census of Marine Life project lasts about 10 years with the participation of about 2,000 scientists from 82 countries to assess and understand the diversity, distribution and abundance of life in the great positive. This project has now entered its 8th year.
