America successfully tested new generation warships
The US Navy has successfully tested a new generation of warships with more effective combat capabilities, especially in waters with depths of less than 6m.
New generation warship USS Independence of the US Navy.
The US Navy's new generation battleship, USS Independence (LCS 2), is designed to be quite compact and able to perform many different tasks. The outstanding advantage of LCS 2 compared to previous generations of warships is that it can operate in shallow waters below 6 m.
USS Independence is built in the Austal shipyard in the state of Alabama (USA). The design length of this warship is 127m. LCS 2 can reach a maximum speed of 74 km / h and has a range of about 19,000 nautical miles.
Although designed much smaller than previous generations of warships, LCS 2 can carry two Seahawk fighters or a CH-53 Sea Stallion fighter. In addition, the LCS 2 also has four runways to help the aircraft take off and land.
