The US Navy's new generation battleship, USS Independence (LCS 2), is designed to be quite compact and able to perform many different tasks. The outstanding advantage of LCS 2 compared to previous generations of warships is that it can operate in shallow waters below 6 m.

USS Independence is built in the Austal shipyard in the state of Alabama (USA). The design length of this warship is 127m. LCS 2 can reach a maximum speed of 74 km / h and has a range of about 19,000 nautical miles.

Although designed much smaller than previous generations of warships, LCS 2 can carry two Seahawk fighters or a CH-53 Sea Stallion fighter. In addition, the LCS 2 also has four runways to help the aircraft take off and land.
