American supersonic aircraft carrying people to space successfully

Billionaire VSS Unity plane Richard Branson successfully brought two pilots to the edge of the universe, promising to make space travel a reality.

The supersonic spacecraft flew to the edge of the universe during an important test flight yesterday, helping the company move closer to the goal of bringing tourists into space, according to CNN. The aircraft mounted the VSS Unity rocket engine departing from the Mojave Air and Space Port in California, 145 km north of Los Angeles.

The plane took two former pilots to a maximum height of 82.7km.

Nearly an hour after takeoff, the VSS Unity separated from the mother ship at 13,106 meters, activated the rocket engine for 60 seconds and flew straight up at nearly three times the speed of sound. The aircraft took the two former pilots to a maximum height of 82.7km, exceeding the outer edge of the universe by 80.5km recognized by the US government. The boundary edge of the universe is estimated by the international community to be Karman Road at a height of 100km.

"We have fulfilled our biggest dream and overcome the most difficult challenge. I know what to do to describe the feeling now. For the first time in history, a manned spacecraft was built to carrying private passengers to space , " said Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Galactic.

This is the fourth test of VSS Unity and the closest flight to the commercial flight route. The success of the test this time means the company only needs to wait a few months to bring the first guest, the target that Virgin Galactic has been in since its founding in 2004. Instead of using the vertical rocket launcher, Virgin Galactic uses the VSS Unity aircraft like the X-plane series of US military supersonic aircraft.

In addition to the two pilots, the aircraft also carried a mannequin and four packages from the Flight Opportunities program to simulate weight distribution when passenger. The company has not disclosed the start time of commercial flights. Branson expressed hope that he could carry out passenger operations within 5 - 6 months.
