The US Aerospace Agency (NASA) has no plans to bring people to the moon in the near future.

NASA director Charles Bolden said the US would not bring people back to the moon to concentrate resources on the program to send people to a meteorite and Mars.

"Americans will not fly to the moon for the rest of my life. The reason is that we cannot do many things at once," Space quoted Mr Bolden.

Bolden's announcement comes as many people believe that the scientific community does not support the idea of putting people on a meteorite. US President Barack Obama approved this idea in 2010, calling on NASA to pursue the goal of bringing people to Mars in the 30s of the 21st century.

America is the first and only country to ever take people to the moon. After the last moon flight in 1972, Americans never returned to the planet's satellite. US governments do not want to continue exploring the moon because the cost is too great and the level of public interest in the moon decreases.
