Archaeologists from the University of Manchester, England, discovered an ancient brewery when excavating archaeological relics in Paphos, southwest of Cyprus, reported in Cyprus on October 3.

The team discovered a kiln in Skalia, Kissinerga village in 2012, and believed it was used to dry malt for brewing processes 3,500 years ago. This new discovery on brewers reinforces the researchers' assumption that Paphos people have been producing and enjoying beer for more than three millennia ago.

This ancient brewery was discovered in the ruins of an industrial park, including the grain and brewing area.

"The team's findings are made in a place of special significance for archeology," the press release of the Cyprus Antiquities Department said.
