Discovered a 200-year-old bronze cannon of the coast
Workers are scooping land for construction of embankments at Xuan Thieu beach (Da Nang), discovering a bronze magic god, dating back to 200 years.
At noon on May 24, the cannon was discovered in Xuan Thieu sea area (Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district) was taken to Danang Museum.

Before that, on the afternoon of April 22, while scooping land for construction of embankments in the sea area of Xuan Thieu (Hoa Hiep Bac ward), workers discovered the cannon at a depth of about 4.5m.
'This gun is about 1.5m long, 30cm more in diameter remains intact, the pattern on the gun body. After the discovery, we reported to local leaders and professional agencies to solve, ' said one worker.
Talking to PV, Mr. Huynh Dinh Quoc Thien, Director of the Da Nang Museum, said that through research and initial evaluation, this cannon was equipped with Nguyen systems for defense at the seaport of Da Nang.

'The bronze-cast gun, which is quite new, was used to fight in the first anti-French period of 1858-1860. This gun is for the commanding officers to use the attack order, dating back to 200 years, which was cast in the Minh Mang (1820-1840) or Thieu Tri (1841-1847) period, ' Thien said.
According to Mr. Thien, the museum desires the gun to be put on display, introducing the value of his father's struggle tradition in history.
