This gun is very similar in many ways with three Dutch cannon cast in 1640, 1661, 1677-1678 on display at the Hue Museum of Ancient Artifacts.

Researcher Nguyen Quang Trung Tien (Hue University of Science) said that based on the initial research, it can be affirmed that the newly discovered copper cannon in Danang originated from the Netherlands.

Although the name of the foundry and the casting year are not recorded (like some Dutch bronze guns kept in Vietnam and some parts of the world), this gun is similar in terms of design, technical construction and Decorative patterns with Dutch bronze cannon and imported into Vietnam.
