Arianespace launched the first satellite of Vietnam

From Jean-Yves Le Gall, CEO of Arianespace, said Arianespace will launch VINASAT-1 satellite for VN Post and Telecommunications Corporation (VNPT) from the aerospace airport in Kourou (in French Guiana).
Jean-Yves Le Gall said: ' This is a fierce battle with US and Russian rivals to win this agreement. It is a very important contract, a strategic task for us to get this job in Vietnam, creating a solid economic development for them. This is also a strong signal for other countries in Asia that are waiting for Vietnam's decision. '
VINASAT-1 satellite was built by contractor Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems (USA). It can provide telephone, television and radio transmission services for Vietnam and Asia-Pacific countries.
