Armor of the new generation iron

Raytheon (USA) has launched a new generation of robot armor for the military, specializing in heavy manual work in the logistics department. This is considered to be the actual version closest to the invention of the character Tony Stark in the film Iron Man.

Called Exoskeleton (XOS2), the robot armor is lighter, faster and more powerful than the original, but uses only 50% of its power compared to XOS1. Its advanced design allows the armor to be more durable in harsh environments.

Raytheon is researching a robot armor that can overcome major transport challenges. XOS2 takes on this task, reducing muscle tension and overuse of the human body. It also helps the job to be completed faster, since a person in robot armor can do a good job of 2-3 soldiers. The deployment of these assistive devices allows for the re-allocation of military personnel to more strategic missions.

"The XOS1 is purely conceptually validated ," TechNewsDaily quoted Fraser Smith, Raytheon's producer. With the XOS2, the company targets power consumption and how to take advantage of hydraulic power. Armor is a combination of structures, sensors, actuators and controls, powered by high pressure hydraulic.

It allows the wearer to easily lift a 90 kg load a few hundred times, or continuously punch for a wood sliver of about 8 cm. Besides, despite its bloated appearance, the XOS2 is able to move softly, soft enough to allow the wearer to shine, punch on a fast moving object or climb. Take the stairs, go downhill without any obstacle.

It is expected that the robot armor will be officially put into use in about 5 years.
