The centipede attacked back from inside the belly of the snake to escape.

Serbian reptile researcher Ljiljana Tomovic discovered the snake's corpse and the centipede on Golem Grad island of the Republic of Macedonia. Mr. Tomovic believes that the snake, 20cm long, underestimated its prey, has to pay the price of its life.

"The snake most likely swallowed the centipede and the prey that attacked back from within the belly of the snake to seek freedom , " the researcher analyzed.

Tomovic said that it was not too special for the snakes on Golem Grad to eat insects, but it was surprising that it was too risky to attack prey to its size.

"We think the young snake has underestimated the size and strength of the centipede, which is known to be a very aggressive carnivore , " said Tomovic.

However, according to him, the centipede after escaping could not keep his life because of the poison from the snake.
