Big storm hurled an old 1000 year old tree, a symbol of California state

Standing firm for more than 1,000 years and becoming the symbol of California State, USA, this legendary old tree was officially knocked down by the storm on Sunday.

An ancient pine tree , the symbol of California, USA with its body cut just enough for cars to pass, was knocked down on Sunday when the snowstorm swept across the state.

The old tree called Pioneer Cabin is estimated to be over 1,000 years old, located in Calaveras County, California, USA and is one of the attractions of Calaveras Park. People also call it another name "tunnel tree".

"This iconic pine tree, also known by the name of the tunnel tree, attracts a large number of tourists to visit," a park official said. However, the snow storm was so strong that it collapsed.

This giant pineal plant is only found in the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and can reach a height of 100m. Visitors can drive through the trunk after it is cut into a fairly large and wide hole. But now, this giant pine tree can only be reached by climbing and walking.

The sign is also badly damaged.

Jim Allday, a volunteer working at the park on Sunday, when the giant pine tree was dumped at 2pm, said many new visitors walked under that tree just a few hours ago.

Due to heavy rain with days of snow, plus the impact of storms over the United States, Pioneer Cabin has been officially "wiped out" from Calaveras State Park.
