Bleached soil

To make sparkling lemon-yellow edible oil droplets, perhaps few people know that in the production stages there are two indispensable substances: soil and color bleaching coal. A Vietnamese engineer has researched the technological process of producing these two substances by the source of Vietnamese materials .
The author of the technology process, engineer Pham Trong Uyen - former researcher of the Research Institute for Vietnamese Essential Oil of Aromatherapy Cosmetic Oil - confided: ' For me, these are the two research results that are satisfactory. and most satisfied in the days of science '. The day he started work, he asserted: ' I will pursue it to the end and live with this kind of research .'.
He said that in the industry of producing vegetable oils, it is important to remove color oil from soil and color bleaching coal (activated carbon). For unrefined (crude) oils, which are relatively clean, 1 ton of cooking oil needs 1.5 kg of bleached color and 3.5 kg of bleached soil.
However, for newly pressed oils such as peanut oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, etc., bleaching soil and bleaching charcoal must be used 10 times higher than the above rate. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese vegetable oil industry produces hundreds of thousands of tons per year, even with the forecast that this figure can be up to 500,000 tons / year.
However, according to Mr. Uyen, up to now, almost all of the demand for bleaching land has been imported for hundreds of USD per ton. Meanwhile, Mr. Uyen also affirmed that in our country, there is a plentiful source of materials, reserves of millions of tons, which can be used to produce bleaching soil very well.
It is bentonite mine - a type of clay among about 100 types of clay in Vietnam - in Di Linh (Lam Dong), with good quality, the content of sand, gravel, stone . accounts for only 10-15%.
Mr. Uyen said that the technological process of producing bleached soil from bentonite materials in Lam Dong has been successfully researched and demonstrated the production capacity at the experimental scale.
According to him, the bentonite material soil of Lam Dong after giving acids such as hydrochloric acid (HCl), sulfuric acid (H2SO4), the metal oxides in bentonite melt, creating holes of extremely small size (calculated in angstrom units, an angstrom equals 10-8cm) inside the bentonite crystal structure.
The size of this hole is relatively suitable for the size of the color particles mixed in the oil. When the bleached soil is added to the oil, the colored particles will enter and be trapped inside the holes of the bleached soil crystals. It is this mechanism that contributes to making the oil clean and beautiful. Colored bleaching coal has the same effect but higher price than bleached soil.
Mr. Uyen affirmed with what he has researched, fully has enough scientific basis and ability to produce bleached soil from abundant raw materials of Vietnam, can compete with imported bleaching soil. With color bleaching coal, it is still possible to produce this type of coal from the existing sawdust in Vietnam, serving the industry of making flour, bleaching sugar, cooking oil.
