Bolivian space scientists are trained in China

According to the Bolivian Space Agency (ABE), scientists in the country will be trained in China, in preparation for the transfer of a satellite built in China by the end of next year.

ABE director Ivan Zambrana said 74 scientists will be trained in China. These experts come from many different fields such as chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, electronics and mechanical engineering that are eligible to participate in the program.

These scientists and engineers are aged 30-50, including graduates and experienced professionals selected on July 25.

Mr. Zambrana also added: "One of the main requirements of the course is that participants must speak English, because most of the course program will be given in this language . " The training program will last 21 months in China and three months in Bolivia.

Zambrana said the satellite construction was carried out according to plans to launch the satellite on December 20, 2013.

The total investment for this satellite satellite project is about 300 million USD, which was announced in August 2011 in Beijing. In particular, the Bolivian government spent about 45 million USD and the remaining 250 million USD was borrowed from China Development Bank.
