Build a cluster of houses with the world's first 3D printing technology in the Netherlands
Living in a community with houses built with 3D printing will soon be realized in the Dutch city of Eindhoven.
The sturdy three-bedroom bungalow is the first of the world's first five houses built of 3D concrete printing technology and will be completed in 2019 in the Meerhoven district forest.

More than 20 people have registered interest after the Dutch construction company Van Wijnen announced the project.
Rudy van Gurp, manager at Van Wijnen, told CNN: "We need a technology revolution in the construction sector to accommodate the shortage of masons in the Netherlands and around the world. " 3D printing technology prints everything faster, better, cheaper and better for the environment because it uses less material. It promotes creativity and freedom in design."
In collaboration with Eindhoven University of Technology, the company is printing various types of concrete walls for the exterior and interior of the house by printing layers one by one.
Because concrete only appears where necessary, the amount of cement used is therefore greatly reduced, thereby reducing costs and CO 2 emissions that are harmful to the environment.
Van Gurp said the 3D wall of the house is only about 5 cm thick while the normal walls are 10 - 15 cm thick.
Different layers not only increase the resistance of the walls, sound insulation and insulation, but also allow wireless sensors to be incorporated in the right position during construction.
The elements of smart apartments such as temperature adjustment system, lights and security from smartphones will make the house truly worth living.

The first house is being printed with concrete printers on the campus of Eindhoven University of Technology, four other houses within the project will also be printed soon.
According to Van Gurp's press release, the houses will look like "incredible blocks of brick in a green space" , its unusual design is due to one of the main features of 3D printing is its ability to print. almost every shape.
At this point, the cost of research and related regulations make the cost of the house too expensive for its benefits, but Van Gurp expects mass production in the next few years to make the price competitive. than.
One of the attractions of building houses with 3D printing is the ability to allow homeowners or tenants to "adjust their facade or design themselves" , opening up a future where people can design themselves. Design your home and print them.
3D houses in the project will not be sold but for rent by Vesteda real estate company after securing the necessary documents.
