Build a 'terrible' ball against the Apocalypse
Only less than 10 days to the apocalypse according to the Mayan calendar, many people believe this rumor is looking for ways to deal with this "disaster."
Mr. Liu Qiyuan, a farmer in the village of Qiantun in Hebei Province (China), created 7 giant spheres from fiberglass to prepare for all possible disasters. His idea was inspired by Noah in the Hollywood movie '2012'.
With a sturdy steel frame, Mr. Liu said the sphere would be a safe haven in natural disasters such as storms and tsunamis. The orbs are capable of floating on the water and some are equipped with propulsion.
The spheres are fully enclosed with oxygen tanks and seats for 14 people. Together they are designed to maintain verticality when moving on water.
Liu hopes his invention will be adopted by government agencies and international organizations and put into use in the case of earthquakes and tsunamis.
Earlier this year, businessman Yang Zongfu, in Zhejiang (China), created a orange-colored refuge ball worth £ 150,000. Mr. Yang said the sphere could guarantee a family of three to maintain life for 10 months.
