Canada produces 20-year light bulbs
Canada's Group IV Semiconductor Inc. (Group IV) has made a revolution in the field of electric lamps by making a lamp that consumes 90% less energy than conventional light bulbs and has a life expectancy of up to 20 years.
Source: typepad trick is to compound the current passing through the silicon, a semiconductor material to generate light. Most of the energy is turned into light instead of heat, allowing these bulbs to consume only one-tenth of the energy used by classic incandescent bulbs, which last longer.
The Group IV investor-led lighting project co-ordinates with EnCana and Canadian Sustainable Technology Corporation (TDDC). This project is worth $ 9.1 million and will be implemented in 3 years.
