Catching fossils living in Indonesia

A handfin was considered extinct since the time of the dinosaurs had just caught the hook of an Indonesian, but unfortunately died after 17 hours.

Justinus Lahama caught the 1.3-meter-long, 50-kilogram fish last Saturday on Sulawesi Island, where a similar specimen was found in 1998. The finfish, also known as the live fossil, was first found in 1938 off the coast of Africa. It was considered extinct 65 million years ago.

This is a fierce carnivorous fish with flexible fins like hands. Its average length is 1.5 meters and weighs about 45 kg. This animal only lives in a cold sea environment, at least 60 meters deep. Unlike other fish, it spawns but does not produce eggs.
