This system means that electronic devices can be charged at distances up to several meters and can generate ' wireless ' hotspots from public wireless locations in 2012. In theory, This system will be completely safe to humans in the charging field because electricity is only transmitted between resonant coils at the same frequency. However, there will likely be many people concerned about this technology in the same way that people fear about the impact of Wi-Fi and cellular phone waves.

This technology uses magnetic resonance to send charge across the air between the charger and the device. A coil and capacitor create resonance between it and the receiving device. According to Fujitsu, the system could lead to a range of future applications including rechargeable areas for electric cars, power transmission for computer chips. Fujitsu said the technology would create electrical rechargers capable of charging up to one-hundredth of the current time needed.
