Can charge your phone verbally
Korean scientists have developed a technology that converts the sound into electricity, which can then be charged by the user's mobile phone.
The Telegraph quotes Sang-Woo Kim of the Nanotechnology Research Institute at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul, South Korea. The new technology can transform sounds in everyday life such as speech, music and sound into electrical energy.
This technology uses tiny zinc oxide wires sandwiched between two electrodes. An acoustic absorption pad at the top of the device vibrates when the sound wave hits and the zinc oxide strands are pressed and released continuously. This movement produces electricity and is then used to charge the battery.
In the future, people can use speech to charge the mobile phone battery.

The technology is capable of converting sound at 100 dB (equivalent to loud noise in traffic) into 50 mV current. It's not enough to charge the phone but Dr. Kim and his associates hope that when they change the material of the cord, they can gain more power with less sound.
Scientists say that once the technology is improved, cell phone users can charge the battery when conversing or charging with ambient noise and even with music when not using the phone.
