China fears gender imbalance
The Chinese government has announced that it is drafting a new law to combat the growing gender imbalance due to the abolition of female fetuses.
The Family Planning Association of this country said the difference is so serious that some cities have a rate of up to 160 male children / 100 female children. Experts fear that this phenomenon will have unforeseen serious social consequences. Some believe that when millions of men in the country cannot find a wife, it will lead to acts of violence and anti-socialism.
The one-child policy of China and the concept of liking a son to follow the line has led to many couples trying to find a way for their only child to be a son. A recent report showed that in Lianyungang City in the eastern part of the country, there were 163.5 males / 100 females under 4 years old. 99% of other cities in the country have a ratio of 125 men / 100 women. The rate according to the current recommendation of the UN is no more than 107 men / 100 women.
