Chinese ancient tomb packing 30 tons transferred to the laboratory
The Department of Chinese Cultural Heritage decided to close the box, moving a grave of ancient people over 2,500 years in Luoyang city to the laboratory.
The Chinese Office of Literature on December 8 moved the ancient tomb in Luoyang City, Henan Province, China to the laboratory to study, according to Youth.
At the end of 2015, Chinese archaeologists discovered the grave of an ancient ethnic group , migrating to Luoyang city around 638 BC.
They recently excavated a grave of 5.6m long, 4.4m wide, 6.2m deep underground. It is preserved intact with many rich artifacts.
The Bureau of Chinese Cultural Heritage decided to move the entire tomb to the laboratory for research.
The process of migration is difficult due to underground water in the grave. Therefore, they decided to dig the ditch on the bottom, then use the pump to bring the water out, preventing the groundwater from overflowing into the grave.
After clearing the surrounding area, the main part of the grave is put into the bin to move.
The total weight of the grave after "packing" is nearly 30 tons.A crane with a load of 100 tons has been mobilized to ensure a smooth transition.
The whole process of moving is completed on December 8.
