This newly built chip can capture energy from a walking body, or from the difference between human body temperature and the surrounding air. Such chip sensors can be used to capture the human body's activity parameters such as heart rate, blood sugar, and operate in infinite time. When installing these sensors on bridges, roads or oil pipes to obtain structural state information, they can get energy from vibrations caused by traffic or oil.

According to the developers, the main complexity lies in the design of the chip's electrical scheme so that it can simultaneously handle many different power sources of power. Usually, this problem is solved by automatically selecting which source has the largest capacity.
