Close up of birds swallowing rabbits
Black rabbits that had just come out of the hole were caught in the sight of hungry starlings and died after a few minutes.
Wading in the water to catch fish, suddenly the Dutch gray heron saw rabbits. Although the rabbit is quite large compared to the usual prey, her aunt still decides to catch alive. The rabbit shouted and struggled very hard, but did not escape the pair as sure as her grip.
She drowned the rabbit in the water. After about half a minute the rabbit is motionless. But when her aunt lifted the rabbit, she lightly shook. The bird sunk into the water again.
This time the rabbits did not jump. It is dead.
Her neck tilted her neck and tried to swallow her prey. It was not an easy job because her prey was quite big compared to her throat.
Finally, the herons swallowed rabbits.
Ad Sprang, a photographer specializing in wildlife photography in the Netherlands for 10 years, recorded the scene in Vianen, Netherlands. He said the Dutch heron is one of the world's largest herons. The bird in the image is 90-100 cm tall and has a wingspan of 175-195 cm.
" I only saw her aunt at first. I just hit the camera a few times when suddenly the rabbit came up from a hole. Her heron was excited and silently approaching the rabbit. Its head was pointing to the right and on the left to estimate the distance, then it is only in a tickle that knocks down and catches the rabbit, "the 56-year-old photographer told the Telegraph .
Herons often catch fish and rats, but rarely attack rabbits. Sprang claimed that her aunt in the picture was so hungry that the rabbit lost her life.
