Consumption of turtles Ho Guom is about to be completed

"Every little detail like birthmarks on the head, skin color, eyes are carefully and meticulously done by scientists," Mr. Long said, and German scientists have come to Vietnam 100 days to help. This is the first time they have made a large specimen, so the completion time is reversed compared to the original plan.

Sword Lake turtle died on January 19 afternoon, was brought into the Museum of natural preservation in cold room at the temperature of - 15 degrees C. Hanoi used to offer 3 preservation methods including: wet preservation, drying and asphalt . Finally the asphalt solution was chosen to help preserve intact specimens, from morphology and color, including difficult parts such as apricot blossom (made of cartilage).

In 2011, turtles were taken ashore to treat ulcers for more than 3 months, then returned to the lake. At that time, the whole turtle's length is 185cm, the width is 100cm, 35cm long, 169kg. The cause of dead turtles is thought to be old and weak, because the turtle lives the longest in the world for 180 years, while the Sword Lake turtle is estimated to be 200 years old.
