Creative with 'Scientific messengers'

In order to encourage young people who love science to demonstrate creativity in bringing science to everyone, the British Council in Vietnam organizes a " science messenger " contest with the first prize being a tour of the United Kingdom. .

The winner will have the opportunity to participate in a famous Science Festival in the UK in the summer of 2007 with many other interesting prizes.

The contest is for you who are 18 years of age or older, who are scientific lovers and wish to interpret scientific phenomena / inventions in the most understandable way, able to communicate well in English.

Method of participation

In the letter, you need to state your idea, presentation / explanation of a scientific phenomenon / principle / invention that you want to present to the public, name and address must be clearly stated. own, contact phone number. The language used in the mailing may be Vietnamese or English. The last email to send the registration is before January 31, 2007.

Each semifinal candidate will have a maximum of 3 minutes to present to the Jury Council on a scientific topic they have chosen. The jury will evaluate and select the most creative, interesting and understandable presentation ideas for the public.

You can bring tools to support the presentation, however, you will not be given the time to arrange and call outside help. PowerPoint software is also not allowed to use in this competition.

You can make your presentation in Vietnamese or English. The jury will be able to ask questions or comment on your presentation. The best contestants will be selected for the final round of the competition which will take place at the end of March 2007.

At the Final Round, the candidates will present a chosen scientific topic, different from the topic presented in the previous round. Each candidate will present in 5 minutes time.

The jury will also ask questions about the topic you will present. In this round, judges may ask questions in English to test your English ability.
