According to Hanna, the minimum safe distance for crocodiles is 12-15 meters.

Crocodiles attack people mostly in and around water areas because crocodile's body structure does not adapt to keeping prey on land. The process of urbanization pushes people deeper into the natural land of Florida, causing more and more similar incidents to occur. According to Hanna, the minimum safe distance with crocodiles is 12-15 meters, because within 6 meters, they can catch up with humans.
