Crow can recognize human voices
Austrian researchers say crows can learn to recognize familiar voices and the cries of other familiar birds.
According to the BBC, scientists at the University of Vienna said their findings suggest that the ability could help crows 'live well' in urban environments, using their vocal cues. neighbors' people and birds to find food or be alert to potential dangers.
'In cities, crows live with barracuda, evil is, seagulls, and people. Some people may be very good with crows, feed them, and others may feel disgusting and chase them away , 'said researcher Claudia Wascher.
Crow can recognize human voices
Scientists used recordings of human voices and screams to test the reaction of eight crow in the birdhouse of the University of Vienna.
They recorded the voices of 5 people who fed crows every day and 5 others 'never seen them'.
When the recordings are open to the raven, they react more to the unfamiliar voices, look up and turn to the sound.
"Because humans can be a serious threat to crows, so if they hear strangers talking, they have to be alert ," Ms. Wascher said.
According to her, although crows are a very intelligent animal, most of the previous studies focused on their ability to recognize and communicate with their fellow humans.
