Detect liquid bombs for 5 seconds
The device can identify the liquid inside as an explosive or flammable form, helping to speed up the speed and accuracy of checked baggage at airports.
The bomb detector, manufactured by the University of Osaka, Japan, has a compact design and is installed anywhere. It has the world-class precision set by the European Civil Aviation Organization.

Bottles of liquid are placed between two cylinders emitting light. The machine will now examine the light-absorbing characteristics of the liquid with information stored in a database.
According to the Asahi Shimbun, depending on the safety of the liquid, the small light will emit red or blue light. The results will be available in less than a second if this is a normal form like water. With less common type, fixed time will last about 5 seconds, then display results on a handheld device.
"This machine can be useful not only at the airport, but also in other places such as museums or venues, such as the Olympic Games," said team leader Hideo Itozaki. .
The testing process was applied at the international gate of Narita Airport for about a month. Group experts hope to be able to cooperate with private companies to provide early next year.
Test equipment at airports around the world is judged to be quite complex and time consuming. In Japan, liquids carried on domestic flights only determine the possibility of fire.
