Detect when people lie most

Researchers at Harvard University recently pointed out that early afternoon is the time when most people often lie and cheat. To produce this study, Harvard psychologists conducted a survey on a group of volunteers. They came up with several different models with dots on a computer screen and asked them to decide if the left or right side had more dots.

When players answer correctly, instead of getting rewarded, they will get paid. However, the researchers say in small words that players will be paid more if choosing the right answer has more dots.

Based on that, the researchers observed and collected the attitudes and answers of the players. The results indicated that, compared to the morning test, participants in the test after noon or early afternoon opted for more right-hand answers, even if it was clearly on the left.

In the second experiment, volunteers were asked to add missing letters for "- ral" and "e --- c -" to form meaningful words and have connections with them. The results of the morning experiment showed that most participants gave the words "moral" and "ethical" (meaning morality, virtue). Meanwhile, the results of the afternoon experiment obtained the words "coral" and "effect" as popular.

Through research, experts pointed out a clear difference between test results in the morning and afternoon. Accordingly, experts believe that those who have high moral standards and behaved in the morning are very vulnerable to "temptation" and fall in the afternoon. In addition, morally "indifferent" people or unethical behaviors without being embarrassed are easily deceived at the beginning of this afternoon.

Dr. Maryam Kouchaki - one of the authors of the study said: "Unfortunately, the most honest people or those who are less likely to be morally indulgent are vulnerable people, causing pepper efficiency. extreme in the afternoon ". According to her, these findings will partly help leaders of agencies and organizations to be more cautious with the behavior of employees and customers in the afternoon work.

The study was published in the journal Psychological Science.
