Is the picture on the right is a drawing of a nude Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci?

The coal drawing, called "Monna Vanna", was considered during the past month in the Louvre, The Sun reported.

Nude drawings are part of the Renaissance art collection of the Conde Museum, Chantily palace, north of Paris, since 1862.

The collection manager, Mathiru Deldicque, said: "This drawing has really excellent quality. It is not a pale copy.

We were looking for a sign that the drawing was made at the same time as the Mona Lisa at the end of Leonardo's life.

"The nude drawing is almost certainly a draft for the oil painting ," he said, referring to the Mona Lisa oil painting.

In addition, the drawing is almost the same size as the famous Mona Lisa painting. In addition, small holes around the character 'Monna Vanna' show that the drawing may have been used as a frame for the oil painting.

Scientists at the Louvre Museum in Paris think that "drawing is at least partly" done by Leonardo.

However, the Louvre conservation expert - Bruno Mottin - said that "we still have to be cautious" about claiming this is Leonardo's work.

"The polish on the upper part of the drawing is done by a right-handed person. Leonardo is the left-hand man," said Mottin.

"Verification will take time. This is a very difficult drawing to study because it is particularly fragile."

Mottin added that the Louvre experts hoped they could find out who made this nude drawing.

There are about 20 paintings and drawings of Mona Lisas nude in collections around the world but many unknown dates and origins.
