The bird's nest is woven from grass, feathers and cotton balls, and the finches also search for small branches to create stiffness for the bird's nest.

Each compartment will have an entrance, usually about 3-4 birds in a compartment.

In cold weather days, the steppe temperature can drop below 0 degrees. However, inside each partition of the bird's nest, the temperature is very warm, usually from 20-21 degrees C. In the hot summer days, due to being covered by an upper layer, the compartments are often very cool, away from be the sun of the sun.

However, this beautiful bird's nest is also quite attractive to the 'intruder' . Vultures often hover above the bird's nest, even they sneak into the bird's nest to eat the young birds in the nest. At that time, the finches will surround the 'intruder' and issue warning signals to the same type.
