The statue of the man who is pondering with many other artifacts excavated in Yehud, Israel may be the burial sacrifice of an important member in ancient society.

Israeli archaeologists have unearthed a 3,800-year-old ceramic vase, which contains a statue of a person pondering with his posture on his knees and arms, chin on November 23.

According to the Israeli Antiquities Bureau, the statue is about 18cm tall, originating in the middle of the Bronze Age (AD 2.100-150 BC), found at the excavation site in Yehud, on the outskirts of Tel Aviv, Israel .

"It seems that the vase, the characteristic object of this period, was prepared in advance and put the unique sculpture in the back. The head of the statue rests on the hand like it is in a state of reflection" , Gilad Itach , who directed the excavation, commented.

In addition, the team also found many jars and other metal items, including daggers, arrows, ax heads, sheep bones and donkey bones. Itach said this could be a burial service of an important member in ancient society.

"As far as I know, this is the first time a rich set of offerings, including such unique pottery, has been found in Israel , " Itach said.
