Diagnose the disease by locating cancer cells

Scientists from Kyoto University, Japan have collaborated on new technology to diagnose cancer by locating cancer.

This technology determines the location of the cancer organization through the introduction of a seed that can be easily combined with cancer cells.

Scientists have for the first time implanted a chemical compound into a particle about 100 nm in diameter and this particle will glow if irradiated by near infrared rays.

The scientists then applied a protease layer (MT1-MMP) capable of easily integrating cancer cells onto the surface of the grain.

Finally, the scientists conducted a large number of injections of these seeds into mice with mammary cancer. After about three hours, the particles will focus on cancer cells.

At this time, cancer can be observed very clearly through irradiation of near infrared rays and photos taken.

In addition to the ability to locate cancer, this technology can also be used to diagnose the development of cancer.
