Crowds of violent protesters often forced the police to use strength. However, that power must be the least dangerous. Recent inventions in this area can prevent crowds from disturbing them without causing injury to participants.

Instead of spraying tear gas or rubber bullets into chaotic people, peacekeepers can soon wet them with slime.

A backpack-like device will allow its wearer to spray on the ground a slippery slime that one cannot stand.

" It's like walking on ice, " said Errol Brigance, senior engineer at Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas.

Brigance and colleagues signed a copyright for this non-traditional invention earlier this year.

Although other methods - including tear gas, sound guns, shocking guns, light and barriers - also work well, not all of these techniques are suitable for every situation. For example, the barriers are cumbersome and need to be planned in advance, and in some cases shocking guns can kill people.

New type of riot system weighs less than 34 kg and consists of 3 compartments: one contains compressed air, one contains 19 liters of water and the third compartment contains powder made from acrylic polymer. The compressed air independently pumps water and powder through the nozzle, mixing this gas-powder mixture into a thick slime like honey and spraying it away.

The nozzles can shoot slime up to 7.5 meters away.

However, other researchers warn that such a system may further disturb and cause more harm than expected. " If everyone fell into a crowd, it would be more dangerous ." In addition, it will not be safe for moving vehicles.

This riot system is currently divided into two experimental stages and can be put into use by the end of next year.
